Daniel Brown, LMSW

Daniel Brown is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and Mental Performance Coach specializing in sports psychology. He earned his BA in Psychology from The Academic College of Tel-Aviv-Yafo and his MSW in Social Work and Social Welfare from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In addition, he completed a Post-Master’s Certificate Program in Sports Social Work from the NYU Silver School of Social Work.

Daniel’s work with clients focuses on enhancing well-being, mental resilience, and performance of athletes and performers across various fields, maximizing their potential in both their professional and personal lives. He employs holistic and evidence-based approaches, focusing on positive psychology, using techniques such as motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), visualization, and mindfulness. Daniel believes that performance is intrinsically linked to well-being, ensuring that his methods enhance both aspects simultaneously.

Sports have always been a passion for Daniel, with his own playing experience coming from representing Israel on the national baseball team. Before joining SportStrata, Daniel ran a private practice, working with athletes from various sports, such as soccer, basketball, handball, tennis, and gymnastics. Most notably, Daniel partnered with Israeli national basketball team sport psychologist Lior Lifshitz, providing individual mental performance sessions and leading workshops on mental health and performance in high schools. This then extended into his work with the Maccabi Ra’anana Handball Team, where he conducted individual and group mental performance sessions for both the professional team and youth prospects.

Outside of work, Daniel enjoys playing basketball, exploring New York and its rich cultural scene, traveling to new places worldwide, and spending quality time with his friends and family.
